The Optometrists

Jia Ning is a graduate optometrist from Singapore Polytechnic , she graduated with Diploma in Optometry (Merit) in 2019 and has been working with Philip D Izaac right upon graduation. In the practice she has seen patient with needs of wanting to know their prescription as their current vision just does not feel right and sometimes to the extend of getting eye fatigues and headaches, kids in need of controlling myopia progression and patients that wants to just come in for a routine eye examination to ensure that their eye health is in good condition.

Jia Ning has a passion in providing comprehensive eye examination  by a thorough refraction, looking through the slit lamp which is akin to a microscope that zoom into the front part of the eye and also looking at the data provided by the instruments to check on the patient eye pressure and status of the back of their eyes. These checks are important as they can pick up early onset of disease to prevent any irreversible damage.

In addition to that Jia Ning interest lies in specialty contact lenses and controlling myopia progression. She has been fitting lenses for keratoconus which is an eye condition in which the cornea gets thinner and gradually bulges outward into a cone shape. The distortion in the shape of the cornea will cause image to become blurry. By fitting the patient with hard lenses , we create a new surface for light to land on and brings down the distortion and thus create a new clear image for the eye to see.

For myopia progression, Jia Ning fits the patient spectacle lenses that control myopia from Hoya/Zeiss, Soft contact lenses from Cooper/acuvue and for patient that are looking for spectacle and contact lens free vision during the daytime , Orthokeratology lenses is an option.
